PEI Business Work PermitThe PEI Business Work Permit stream, part of the Business Impact category of the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program, is for experienced business owners and senior managers. You come to PEI on a work permit, start or buy a business and run it actively, and can then be nominated for permanent residence. In 2026 the province has issued very few business invitations, so treat this as a limited option.PEI Critical WorkerThe PEI Critical Worker stream helps people who already work in Prince Edward Island in intermediate-skilled jobs (TEER 4 or 5) become permanent residents. You need a full-time, non-seasonal job offer from your PEI employer, at least six months of full-time work with that employer, a high school diploma, and a CLB/NCLC 4 language test.PEI Express EntryPEI Express Entry is the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program stream linked to Canada's federal Express Entry system. If you qualify for the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Federal Skilled Trades Program, or the Canadian Experience Class and have an active Express Entry profile, PEI can nominate you. A nomination adds 600 points to your Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score, which almost always leads to an invitation to apply for permanent residence.PEI Intermediate ExperienceThe PEI Intermediate Experience stream is a Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program pathway for workers in TEER 4 jobs who have at least six months of full-time Canadian work experience gained on a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) based work permit. You need a full-time, non-seasonal job offer from a PEI employer, a high school diploma, and a CLB/NCLC 4 language test.PEI International GraduateThe PEI International Graduate stream is for international students who graduated from a publicly funded post-secondary institution in Prince Edward Island and now hold a post-graduation work permit (PGWP). You need a full-time, non-seasonal job offer from a PEI employer. A provincial nomination lets you apply for Canadian permanent residence.PEI Occupations in DemandThe PEI Occupations in Demand stream nominates workers for a short list of jobs that Prince Edward Island employers struggle to fill, such as nurse aides, truck drivers, and construction helpers. You need a full-time, non-seasonal, permanent job offer in one of eight listed occupations, one year of related work experience, a high school diploma, and a CLB/NCLC 4 language test.PEI Skilled WorkerThe PEI Skilled Worker stream is part of the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP). It is for people with a full-time job offer from a PEI employer in a TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3 occupation, at least two years of full-time work experience, and a post-secondary credential. A nomination lets you apply to the federal government for permanent residence.
