Why consulates show different dollar amounts

Each consulate converts pesos into dollars (or Canadian dollars) at its own rate and may ask for extra proof. Always check the consulate where you will apply. See Mexican consulates.

Frequently asked questions

Do consulates still use minimum wage days?

No. The 2025 visa guidelines replaced minimum wage days with UMA days. Older figures based on minimum wage (300 or 500 days) are out of date.

Can I combine income and savings?

Generally no. You qualify with either the income test or the savings test; check your consulate's rules.
