Alberta Express Entry StreamThe Alberta Express Entry Stream lets Alberta nominate candidates who already have a profile in the federal Express Entry pool. You need a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of at least 300, eligibility for a federal Express Entry program, and an occupation that fits one of Alberta's pathways or priorities. A nomination adds 600 CRS points, which almost always leads to an invitation to apply for permanent residence.Alberta Opportunity StreamThe Alberta Opportunity Stream (AOS) is the main worker stream of the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) for temporary foreign workers who already live and work full-time in Alberta. If you hold a valid work permit, have a full-time Alberta job offer in an eligible occupation, and meet the language, education, and work experience minimums, you can enter Alberta's Worker Expression of Interest pool and may be invited to apply for a provincial nomination, which you then use to apply to IRCC for permanent residence.Dedicated Health Care PathwayThe Dedicated Health Care Pathway is an Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) route for licensed health care professionals with a job offer from an Alberta health care employer. It has an Express Entry option for candidates in the federal pool and a non-Express Entry option for those who cannot meet Express Entry rules. Alberta gives these applications expedited processing.Farm StreamThe Farm Stream is an Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) route for experienced farmers who plan to buy or start a farm in Alberta. You must prove farm management skills, show a net worth of at least $500,000, and invest at least $500,000 of equity in a primary production farm, backed by a business plan. Alberta reviews each plan with Alberta Agriculture and Irrigation before deciding on a nomination.Foreign Graduate EntrepreneurThe Foreign Graduate Entrepreneur Stream is an Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) route for people with a recent degree from a university outside Canada who want to launch a start-up or innovative business in Alberta. You must work with one of Alberta's designated agencies, invest at least $100,000 in an urban center or $50,000 in a regional area, and meet CLB 5. With the federal Start-Up Visa closed, it is one of the few start-up routes to permanent residence still open in Canada.Graduate Entrepreneur StreamThe Graduate Entrepreneur Stream is an Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) route for international students who graduated from a publicly funded Alberta post-secondary school and want to start or buy a business in Alberta. You need a valid Post-Graduation Work Permit, CLB 7 English or NCLC 7 French, and at least 34% ownership of an Alberta business with a physical location. There is no minimum investment, but more investment, experience, and job creation earn more points.Rural Entrepreneur StreamThe Rural Entrepreneur Stream is an Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) route for experienced business owners and senior managers who want to start or buy a business in a participating rural Alberta community. You need at least $300,000 in net worth, a $100,000 investment of your own money, CLB 4 English or French, and a support letter from the community after an exploratory visit. Alberta nominates you for permanent residence only after you meet its business requirements.Rural Renewal StreamThe Rural Renewal Stream is an Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) worker stream for people with a full-time job offer in a designated rural Alberta community. The community must endorse you before you can apply, and you also need 12 months of recent full-time work experience, minimum language scores, and high school education. Since January 1, 2026, each community has a limited number of endorsements and each endorsement letter is valid for one year.Tourism and Hospitality StreamThe Tourism and Hospitality Stream is an Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) worker stream for temporary foreign workers who already work full-time in Alberta's tourism and hospitality sector. You need an LMIA-based work permit (or an eligible IRCC special measure), at least six months with your current approved employer in an eligible occupation, CLB 4, and a full-time job offer to keep working there. It has a very small share of Alberta's 2026 nominations.
