Yukon Express Entry Stream: Nomination for Express Entry Candidates

Express Entry is Canada's online system for three federal skilled worker programs: the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Canadian Experience Class, and the Federal Skilled Trades Program. Candidates create a profile and get a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. IRCC invites the top-scoring candidates in regular draws.

Provinces and territories can pick candidates from that pool through "enhanced" nomination streams. The Yukon Express Entry stream is Yukon's enhanced stream inside the Yukon Nominee Program (YNP). If Yukon nominates you, you receive 600 extra CRS points. That is enough to put almost any candidate above the cutoff in the next draw open to provincial nominees.

Unlike some provinces, Yukon does not search the Express Entry pool on its own. The stream is employer-driven: you need a full-time, permanent job offer from a Yukon employer, and the employer starts the process. As of September 2026, the stream exists, but Yukon only took new employer Expressions of Interest (EOIs) in two windows this year.

Employers that received a Temporary Measure Letter of Support from Yukon in 2024 or 2025 were contacted separately and did not need to submit an EOI.

Yukon ranks EOIs against its yearly priorities. In 2026 these include health care professionals, rural employers and French speakers. If you speak French, the EOI asks when you took the TEF Canada or TCF Canada test. Strong French results can also help your CRS score and may make you eligible for federal French-language Express Entry draws.

You must meet two sets of rules: IRCC's rules for Express Entry and Yukon's rules for the stream.

Federal requirements

• An active Express Entry profile, which means you qualify for at least one of the three federal programs.
• Language test results that meet that program's minimum. See our language tests guide.
• For the Federal Skilled Worker Program, an Educational Credential Assessment for foreign education and, in most cases, proof of settlement funds.

Yukon requirements

• A full-time, permanent job offer from an established Yukon employer in a TEER 0 to 3 occupation.
• The education, training, experience and any license the job requires.
• An employer that tried to hire Canadians and permanent residents first and pays a wage that meets Yukon's rules.
• A plan to live and work in Yukon.

Yukon publishes its detailed Express Entry criteria on yukon.ca. Check the current version before your employer submits an EOI, because details can change from one year to the next.

The process after Yukon approves you:

1. Yukon issues the nomination in the Express Entry system.
2. You accept it in your IRCC online account. Your score rises by 600.
3. IRCC invites you in a draw open to provincial nominees.

Express Entry applications are usually processed faster than base PNP applications. Check current times with our processing times tool.

Keep your Express Entry profile active during the whole process. If it expires before Yukon issues the nomination, you may need to create a new profile.

Both streams cover skilled TEER 0 to 3 jobs with a Yukon job offer. The difference is whether you are in the Express Entry pool.

Getting papers ready early saves time once your employer is invited. Most candidates need:

• Your Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code.
• A valid passport and, if you are in Canada, your current permit.
• Language test results that are less than two years old.
• Proof of education, plus an ECA report for foreign credentials if you use the Federal Skilled Worker Program.
• Reference letters from past employers that list your duties, hours and dates.
• The signed Yukon job offer and any license or certification the job requires.

Yukon's own document checklist is on yukon.ca, and IRCC asks for more after you receive an invitation to apply, such as police certificates and a medical exam. Documents not in English or French need certified translations.

• Keep your status in Canada. A nomination does not extend a work permit. Look at extending your status or a bridging open work permit if your permit is ending.
