Premium Processing
Premium processing is an optional USCIS service that guarantees action on certain petitions and applications within a set time for an extra fee, requested on Form I-907. Action means an approval, denial, RFE, or NOID, not always a final approval.
Fees and timing
As of September 2026, USCIS charges (from March 1, 2026):

| I-129 for H-2B and R | $1,780 |
| I-539 for F, J, and M | $2,075 |
Many petitions get action within 15 business days, while some categories such as national interest waiver cases have longer time frames. If USCIS misses the time frame, it refunds the fee but keeps processing.

Frequently asked questions
Does premium processing guarantee approval?
No. It guarantees a decision or request for evidence within the time frame, not a result.
Can I upgrade an existing case to premium?
Yes, for eligible forms, by filing Form I-907 with the receipt number.
Is premium processing available for green cards?
Not for Form I-485. It is available for the I-140 petition.
