Open Work Permit
An open work permit is a Canadian work permit that is not tied to one employer, so you can work for almost any employer in Canada without needing a job offer or an LMIA.
Main types
- PGWP for eligible graduates of Canadian schools.
- Spousal open work permit for some spouses of students and workers.
- Bridging open work permit for people waiting on permanent residence.
- IEC Working Holiday.
- Vulnerable worker permit for workers facing abuse.
As of September 2026, the fee is CAD $155 for the work permit plus CAD $100 for the open work permit holder fee, CAD $255 in total.
